Neehari Global Limited visa services from Nairobi - Study Visa Application

Study Visa Application in Nairobi

A study visa carries more moving parts than any other category: an admission letter, tuition evidence, language testing, medicals, and in many countries a formal financial guarantee. Timelines are set by the institution's intake, not by you, so the sequencing matters as much as the paperwork. We work backwards from your course start date and tell you what has to be finished by when.

Who this service is for

We handle study visa application for a wide range of travellers, and the right approach differs considerably between them. A salaried employee with a five-year employment history and a self-employed trader with no payslips need entirely different files, even for the same destination on the same dates. If you recognise yourself below, we have done this many times before.

How long it takes

Study visas need the longest lead time - plan on two to four months before your course start date. Medicals, police clearance and language testing all have their own queues, and several of them cannot be started until the admission letter is in hand.

Those are the mission's own processing standards, and they are only half the picture. In Nairobi the binding constraint is usually appointment availability rather than processing: slots at the visa application centres are released in batches, taken within minutes, and at their tightest around the December and August peaks. Build your plan around the date you can actually be seen, not around the published turnaround. We will tell you what is realistically available before you commit to a flight.

How we handle your application

  1. Free consultation. We establish the correct visa category, the right mission and a realistic date. Getting this wrong at the start costs more than anything else.
  2. Tailored checklist. You get a document list built for your circumstances, not a generic printout.
  3. Document review. We check every item for consistency before anything is submitted. See our visa document review service.
  4. Form completion. We complete the application and send it to you to verify line by line before submission.
  5. Appointment. We secure the earliest workable slot at the relevant centre - see appointment booking.
  6. Tracking. We monitor the file and respond to any request for further documents during processing.
  7. Decision and collection. We tell you what the decision means and what happens next, including passport collection.

Need help choosing a school first?

The student visa is the second half of studying abroad; the first half is picking the right country and school and getting an offer. If you are still at that stage, our study abroad placement service handles it - including our partnership with Grandsud Tourism School in Dubai and France - and then hands over to this visa service once you have an admission letter.

What the mission is actually deciding

Study applications have more dependencies than any other category, and most of the trouble comes from sequencing rather than from any single document. The offer has to arrive before the medical can be booked; the medical certificate has a validity window that can expire if the rest of the file drags; the police clearance runs on its own timetable regardless of your intake date; and proof of funds usually has to be held for a defined period before you apply, which means the money has to be in place weeks before you are ready to submit. Applicants who start four months out almost always make it comfortably. Applicants who start six weeks out are usually deferring to the next intake, and there is nothing anyone can do about it once the queues are the binding constraint rather than the paperwork.

After the decision

A granted study visa typically carries conditions - permitted working hours, registration requirements on arrival, and rules about changing institution. Read the grant notice properly rather than assuming, because breaching a condition affects every future application you make anywhere. We go through the conditions with you before you travel.

Why applying from Nairobi is different

Most of the guidance you will find online about study visa was written for applicants in Europe or North America, and it quietly assumes things that are not true here. It assumes appointment slots are available within days. It assumes a salaried applicant with a payslip. It assumes a long personal travel history already sitting in the passport. For a great many Kenyan applicants none of those hold, and a file built on that advice will be missing exactly the evidence a consular officer covering this region is looking for.

What actually works from Nairobi is documenting the things that are true about your life rather than mimicking a template: a business rather than an employer, family and property here rather than a long stamp collection, regional travel history rather than European. We build files around that, and we do it for clients across the city - from Kilimani to Karen and Kileleshwa.

Is this the right category for your trip?

Short courses under three months can sometimes be done on a visitor visa, which is faster and lighter on documentation. Above that threshold you almost always need the study category. We check which applies before you start assembling anything.

What you pay, and what it covers

There are two separate costs in any visa application and it is worth keeping them apart. The first is the mission's own visa fee, plus any visa centre service charge and optional priority fee. That money goes to them, is set by them, changes periodically, and is not refundable if the application is refused. The second is our consultancy fee, which covers the consultation, the tailored checklist, document review, form completion, appointment booking and tracking of the file through to decision.

We quote both in writing before you commit to anything, and the initial consultation is free. We do not take a percentage of anything, we do not mark up the mission's fees, and we do not charge a success fee - a fee structure that rewards us for a decision we do not control would not be honest. If your case is one where you genuinely do not need us, we will say so.

Study Visa clients across Nairobi

We handle study visa applications for clients right across the city. A large share of this work comes from Kilimani, where the kilimani mix leans heavily towards schengen and uk travel for work and holidays, study visas for young professionals going abroad for masters programmes, and travel i. We also see steady demand from clients in Karen, and from Kileleshwa and the surrounding neighbourhoods. Wherever you are in Nairobi, most of the process runs over email and WhatsApp - you only need to attend the visa centre in person for biometrics.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need IELTS for every study visa?

No. Requirements vary by country and institution, and some universities waive the test where your previous education was in English. We confirm the requirement against your specific offer before you pay for a test.

Can my parent or relative sponsor my studies?

Yes, and this is completely normal. The sponsor needs to document their income, provide statements and sign an affidavit of support, and you need to evidence the relationship.

What is the IOM medical and do I need it?

It is a medical examination carried out by an IOM-approved panel physician, required by several destinations before a study or long-stay visa is issued. Whether you need it depends on the country - we confirm this for your case.

Can I work while studying abroad?

Many destinations allow limited part-time work during term, with specific hour caps and conditions. The rules differ significantly by country, so treat any income as a supplement and never as part of your proof of funds.

Can you help with study-abroad loans?

We advise on how the loan documentation needs to be presented to the mission and which lenders' letters are generally accepted. We are not a lender and we do not take a commission on loans.

Can I switch courses after arriving?

Sometimes, but it usually requires permission and can affect your visa. Treat the course on your application as the course you intend to do, and raise any doubts before you apply rather than after.

What if my visa is refused after I have paid tuition?

Most institutions refund tuition on presentation of a refusal letter, minus a deposit. Check the refund policy before paying - it varies significantly and it is worth knowing where you stand.

Can my spouse or children come with me?

Some study categories allow dependants and some do not, and where they do the financial requirement rises accordingly. We check this at the start because it changes the funds you need to evidence.

What we commit to

Local SEO copy is cheap and promises are cheaper, so here is what we will actually hold ourselves to. We quote our fee and the mission's separate fees in writing before you pay anything, and the first consultation costs nothing. We do not guarantee approvals, because the decision belongs to a consular officer and no consultant controls it - anyone in Nairobi telling you otherwise is either selling something or planning to blame the embassy later.

We will not produce documents on your behalf, invent employment, or supply an insurance certificate that does not correspond to a real policy. Those are the fastest routes to a deception finding and a multi-year ban, and they end careers as well as trips. If we think your case is straightforward enough to file yourself, we will say so and charge you for the review rather than the full service. And if we think a deadline genuinely cannot be met, you will hear that on the first call rather than the week before you fly.
